Every one of my mugs is unique. Thrown on the wheel with buff stoneware clay, at leather hard stage, various designs have been carefully carved into the clay for decorative interest.
This piece has dappled carving around the surface two thirds of the way up and a little on the handle for extra detail. Glazed to look like the sea. Above which is smooth, with a mix of glazes looking a little like the sky! Inside speaks more of under the ocean with greeny blues. . Glazed in vintage green, the glaze has reacted in areas to create a lovely aged feel, with touches of blue in some areas. It measures height-7cm, bottom-5.5cm, top opening 7.5cm.
Each piece is made with the utmost care and attention to detail. Taking inspiration from nature, my forms often feature organic curves or waves akin to the edge of a leaf or petal. I recommend hand washing handmade ceramic items for prolonged life and best care.
