This pedestal vase was thrown in two pieces on the wheel with buff stoneware clay. Once leather hard, then joined and trimmed with carved detail added. The lid is hand built separately with an organic wave edge and has three varying sized holes for different stems. This piece has a lovely speckled oatmeal glaze.
These vases are designed to make flower arranging easy, with the removable lid with holes spaced to create even distribution of stems and prevent flopping! Just fill the bowl with water, pop on the lid an arrange your flowers! Be sure to top up the water every couple of days and trim stems to ensure they last as long as possible!
